Transfered to the Alamo direct from boot camp in 9/1966 and transfered to Hospital Corps school in San Diego in 8/1967. Went from the Deck gang to the gun gang. Any one around that was on ship at that time? HN John Homann now living in Everett, WA

I worked on the USS Alamo in San Diego for a ship repair company. 1981-1982 A Sailor flipped me a coin from the mezzanine deck and I still have it. It is a Australian coin. Great experience! Lisa gracebay57@yahoo.com
